Spring Film Showcase

Aloneintheforest presented a Spring Film Showcase that featured both "Untitled for James" and "Animus."

Both films Blaine was the Director of Photography for, and "Untitled for James" Kenneth stared as the lead role of James.

The showcase was a huge success with a great turnout at the Wilma back in May. If you couldn't attend the Spring Film Showcase, Aloneintheforest will be holding a Winter Shorts Film Festival in December.

Both movies will be posted to www.kbdphoto.com shortly but in the mean time you can find "Animus" at www.aloneintheforest.com and "Untitled for James" at www.openfilms.com

Thank you so much for the support and please let us know what you think of our work!

Till next time…..

VOTE FOR OUR FILM!!!!

The first project that Blaine Dunkley shot and Kenneth Billington was the lead actor in, wrapped up late in May with a screening at the University Theater.

Ali Tabibnejad thesis project "Untitled for James" a short film featured Blaine Dunkley as the Director of Photography and Kenneth Billington as James.

Ali approached Blaine right away and he jumped on the opportunity. Kenneth attended a couple casting calls before finally being picked for the role.

It was a super long process and at times a very frustrating project. In the end though with the help of Mather McKellor sound work and a few screenings before the final edit was ready, both Blaine and Kenneth are extremely excited about the finished project.

Recently Ali Tabibnejad posted the movie on the website www.openfilm.com where within 12 hours it had received over 2,000 hits and became #1 editor pick for the website.

That is extremely exciting news because the www.openfilm.com also runs a competition for short films and it is now in the running.

So please please please vote for Ali Tabibnejad's, "Untitled for James" his latest film. Voting Commences in July. The winner will receive a 50,000$ cash prize along with a 250,000 dollar budget to make a Feature film! Thank you so much, lets make this happen.

Check back on the website www.kbdphoto.com shortly for it to be posted on there as well.

Thank you all for the continual support and stay in touch for more new news from KBD Photography!

Fundraiser a complete success!!!

May 15th was the screening of our short documentary/plug we did for the Living Art of Montana, a Missoula non-profit organization that uses art & nature to support healing.

It was shown at a benefit dinner which included a silent auction of art work, all of which pulled artists from all over Montana in hopes to support Living Art.

Our video and the hard work of others helped raise over $25,000!!!! I think it is safe to say that we accomplished our goals for the project. Youpa Stein and Nacy Mills both featured in the video were very pleased with the finished project. We are extremely proud to be a part of this process that is helping such a great organization like the Living Art of Montana and we are super happy that it accurately and professionally showed what the people behind the organization are so passionate about.

It was a long process but after many hours of editing, both Blaine and myself are very happy with our end product and are very appreciative of the incredible opportunity to share such an important message with the world.

Check it out on our website at www.kbdphoto.com under our films section, or the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riydcOtgdvc.

Thank you to Nancy Mills and Youpa Stein and all of Living Art of Montana.

Tyler Bryant during his concert for Rock Prophecies tour in Missoula, MT

Good News!!! KBD's video footage taken for John Chester and his documentary Rock Prophecies will be airing on PBS in September!

KBD was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to shoot stills for the Rock Prophecies tour that was traveling through Missoula recently. The Tour involved lectures from John Chester (the director), a film screening, a book signing and a huge concert by Tyler Bryant to top it off.

UM Productions happened to already know our name KBD Photography and asked us if we would follow them around for a week and capture their time here in Missoula. So of course we said YES YES YES.

It is so funny how things work out too, you really need to just jump head first into opportunities and more often than not, more opportunities arise. For example we were lucky enough to be asked by John Chester to use our video equipment to help him shoot the big concert, which if good enough, he said would be used for the new ending to the film.

Shooting the concert was a huge learning experience for us. Not to mention the awesome opportunity to work beside John Chester, Tyler Bryant and Robert Knight! Long story short, it couldn't have gone better. Blaine manned the mid range lens and Ken was Camera B manning the telephoto. Of course in usual KBD fashion they switched it up quite a bit.

Just recently we heard from John Chester and he loved the footage! So he is using what we shot for the new ending of his movie along with giving us credit as cameramen for the film.

It couldn't have gone any better for KBD and are super grateful for the opportunities given by UM Production and John Chester, along with working beside Tyler Bryant and Robert Knight. All absolutely amazing talented people who KBD admires greatly.

Check out our new website http://www.kbdphoto.com/ for more photography from the event along with http://www.rockprophecies.com/   for more information on the film.

Finally Moving Forward!!!

Proud to announce that KBD has completed a documentary film for the non-profit organization Living Art of Montana. Living Art was able to use the video to help raise $25,000!

Also want to add that we have just completed a 2 1/2 week film shoot for an independent short film 'Life and Times of An American Playboy.' Blaine was the Director of Photography and Kenneth was the first assistant camera.

It was a long grueling process but it is done and we are so thankful for the experiences and relationships made on both projects. More on both of these projects coming soon!

Unfortunately, our email system has been down, so if you have tried to contact us we apologize for not responding.

But as the title suggest, KBD is finally moving forward! At the beginning of the year we set out a plan to begin incorporating more film projects, and after a couple recent projects, we were so excited that see that we could go above and beyond our goals that we set out for the year.

With that said, we just accepted a job documenting the music festival "Love Your Mother Earth" out at rock creek this Saturday and Sunday. Tyler Albrethsen, producer for the project, has been working with countless musicians and producers to get this thing off the ground. Great work Tyler!!!

With this break between projects we have finally been able to also get done a little spring cleaning of the business. As you can see we have FINALLY UPDATED our website (still not completely done) and we have also started out Blog.

The website is still www.kbdphoto.com so please check it out, tell your family and friends, share with us some feedback because we would love to know what you think.
